As we reach our mid 20s to early 30s, this is the time when collagen production in our skin
slows down, which leads to subtle but visible signs of aging in a form of fine lines and
wrinkles, especially around the eyes, mouth and on the forehead. Additionally, stress is an
important factor that tends to get prominent in these years, and can accelerate the signs of
aging; skin becomes duller, tired-looking and wrinkled. Last but not least, hormones play a
role in this age group, causing acne breakouts and excess sebum, which can also lead to
scarring and hyperpigmentation.
In your mid 20s to 30s, skincare is all about preventing the formation of these visible signs of
aging, and this is the best time to start maintaining – if you haven’t started yet – your youthful
glow, choose products that promote cell turnover, reduce collagen breakdown and improve
the overall look of your skin.
Sunscreen
Interestingly, about 80% of facial aging is attributed to sun exposure. Therefore, first and
foremost, the most important product that you should start using is sunscreen!
Of course, sunscreen comes at the very end of your routine; after cleansers, toners, serums,
and moisturizers, however, they present the most crucial part of your skincare routine in order
to preserve the youthful and unwrinkled look of your skin.
Sun exposure is essential for the synthesis of vitamin D, however, excessive exposure to
harmful UV rays leads to premature aging, free radical formation and degradation of
extracellular matrix. UV rays can be categorized in two groups: UVA rays contribute to
premature skin aging, wrinkles and skin cancer, while UVB rays cause sunburn.
Sunscreens can be divided into two groups;
Chemical or organic UV filters: these are the ones that reflect the UV rays and prevent them
from entering the skin. We can further divide these filters into photostable, photo unstable
and photoreactive filters.
Physical or inorganic UV filters: these are the ones that absorb the UV rays and are active
against a specific light spectrum. Such filters include zinc oxide, titanium dioxide and iron
dioxide. The larger metal oxide particles tend to diffuse the light from the visible range of
spectrum, leaving a so-called white cast on the skin, which may be a disadvantage of these
filters.
The filters can be used either individually or in a combination to act as a sunscreen, and both
of them present an excellent form of sun protection. Also, always make sure to choose a
product that offers broad-spectrum coverage, meaning protection against both UVA and UVB
rays, with an SPF 30 or higher.
Which Ingredients Are The Most Suitable For Your Skin In Your
Mid 20s – 30s?
● Dr Asya Grafy’s THERMAOX Line
Dr Asya Grafy’s Thermaox line is an excellent choice in preserving the youthful look of your
skin, as it provides a powerful blend of natural ingredients, perfect for the age groups
between 25 and 35.
The Thermaox line includes water-soluble vitamins C, B3, B5 and B6 that improve skin
texture, reduce hyperpigmentation, enhance skin barrier function, reduce sebum levels and
excessive oil, and stimulate collagen production, while an oil-soluble vitamin E moisturizes
and softens the skin. Aloe vera is also an amazing soothing ingredient in this line that softens
the skin and soothes irritation. Rosmarinic extract is an ingredient that has a strong
rejuvenating effect due to its antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Jojoba, argan oil and squalane restore elasticity, provide long-lasting moisturizing effects
(they won’t cause your skin feeling dry), prevent acne and reduce fine lines. Hyaluronic acid
also plays an important role in preserving the skin hydration levels high. Dr Asya Grafy’s
Thermaox lines includes triple hyaluronic acid with three molecular weights to ensure
efficient penetration in the skin, resulting in softer, supple skin, while promoting cell
regeneration and reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
● Face Cleanser
Many of the environmental impurities and cosmetic products are not water soluble, therefore
washing the skin with simple water would not be sufficient enough to remove them. Skin
cleansers are surface-active substances that lower the surface tension on the skin and remove
dirt, sebum, oil from cosmetic products, microorganisms, and corneum cells. You should
always start your skincare routine by using a face cleanser that gently removes all of the
above mentioned substances, while providing moisturizing and hydrating effects, leaving
your skin refreshed, clean and supple.
Dr Asya Grafy’s Thermaox line provides a blend of powerful ingredients, including gentle
surfactants in the face cleanser that have a great foaming capacity to thoroughly cleanse the
skin.
● Face Serum
Face serums are special skincare products that target particular issues and produce noticeable
results by delivering powerful active ingredients deeply into the skin. Depending on their
formulation, face serums can have a wide range of effects, including hydrating, anti-aging,
brightening, exfoliating, soothing, oil-controlling and reducing acne, and they tend to have a
lighter consistency. Using serum in your mid 20s and 30s can be extremely beneficial in
reducing the first visible signs of aging. Bakuchiol and resveratrol in the Thermaox serum
promote collagen synthesis, cell proliferation, reduce hyperpigmentation and provide anti-
inflammatory and anti-microbial effects.
● Eye Cream
Periorbital skin has a unique physiology, as it is the thinnest of the entire body, in fact, in
some cases it measures as little as 0.2 mm. Eye creams are topical products that are targeted
to address skin concerns unique to this region, including moisturizing, reducing dark circles,
puffiness, irritation, and fine lines and wrinkles, that’s why these products tend to have a
thicker consistency. Mid 20s are perfect to start using an eye cream, since this is an area
where fine lines and wrinkles start to get the most prominent first. Thermaox eye cream
includes kontgrass extract that protects skin from sun damage while increasing firmness and
reducing fine lines. Similarly, Vaccinium Myrtillus, also known as blueberry extract, fights
oxidative stress, improves skin barrier and reduces hyperpigmentation on the skin.
● Moisturizer
Moisturizers are an essential part of the skincare routine. Their main role is, of course, to
hydrate and moisturize the skin, maintain a normal skin pH level, and allow the lipid bilayer
in the skin to normalize and re-establish their capacity to connect corneocytes together and
allow for moisture retention in the intercellular spaces. Subsequently, the skin is less dry,
more smooth, soft, and extensible. Thermaox moisturizer has been expertly formulated to
deliver ultimate hydration, nourishment, and rejuvenation by its active ingredients hyaluronic
acid, which promotes skin cell regeneration, bakuchiol, which stimulates collagen synthesis,
moss extract, which improves the skin barrier function, increases hydration, and reduces
transepidermal water loss, and many others.
